Casepost

Friday, June 1st, 2007

The idea behind Casepost is to match attorneys with potential clients in their local area. The idea was not new, as Legal Match had actually created the model several years before Casepost. MFA directors have worked as consultants to both companies.

Casepost really has nothing to offer attorneys any longer. The idea is that Casepost will advertise on search engines, have clients come to their site, fill out a legal questionnaire, and then farm out those “cases” to attorney members. MFA has a patent pending legal questionairre system that literally blows Casepost & Legalmatch out of the water by tailoring that intake form to the attorney’s website, local area, and practice areas.

I urge my readers to go through the case posting process of both Casepost and Legalmatch before signing up with either service. Additionally, ask to talk with an attorney that uses the service before signing up. It will be difficult to find a good review of the Casepost service, but Legalmatch has a few “point men” in place to offer good reviews of the service to potential customers.

An MFA powered website is the key to finding new clients. Gimmicky services such as Legalmatch and Casepost will only cause you pain. But don’t take our word for it; ask to speak to an attorney in your area who is happy with the service. You won’t find one.

MFA sites provide the path to free advertising via outstanding seach engine results. You are constantly building your site into a valuable commodity, as opposed to spending your money with Casepost in which you are left with nothing after your term is over.

MFA would like to thank Elise Casey for her comments. Our network is vast indeed!

Defining a Web Presence

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

In the infancy of the web, people would build websites and tell people to go to them. Then search engine rankings became important, as people wanted their sites to be found. The idea of a “site” should be left back in the early days. Now what you need to gain clients is a successful Web Presence.

How do the two differ?

A web site consists of static pages that a person goes to in order to find information. Maybe to research your firm a little bit, find your phone number, etc…A web presence happens both inside your website and outside of your site. Namely, on other people’s websites.

A web presence, when at work in your site is defined by the interaction between you and your users. Your users are Potential clients as well as Current clients. When you allow your users to ask questions on your site, and then you publish the answers, you are establishing yourself as a living, breathing person that is available to that potential client. The more real you can become on your site, the faster you can get that first point of contact with the potential client.

Your successful web presence outside of your site is very important as well. By constantly writing articles and publishing them on your site via our “Site Dashboard”, you are building the value of your site. But each one of those articles is also being syndicated to Legal Portals, other attorney websites, social networking sites, really just about any where on the web. This casts your net wide and makes sure that potential clients can find you all over the internet, and not just through Google or other search engines.

$495 Easy Sites

Friday, February 9th, 2007

A lot of attorney advertising companies offer static websites and charge exuberant amounts. We decided to offer a design to compete with the likes of FindLaw, Scorpion Design and Axsen. But, we charge a lot less. We know attorneys are much better served with dynamic sites via our marketing packages, but decided to serve something up to compete with the other guys.

Basically, we build these so that attorneys on a very low budget can still have a decent web presence. And, because it makes for good comparison to see what a normal website is like, versus a web presence.

You get hosting for a year, your own domain name, 5 email addresses at your domain, and your choice of up to 3 areas of legal content.

Our regular clients have unlimited access to our legal content.

Please click on the link below to view some examples. Currently there are 2 styles available. We will be adding more on a bi-weekly basis, so if you don’t see something you like, come back a little later!

Establishing yourself as the local Guru

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

This is of one of the goals we seek in every web presence we do. By following these 3 simple steps, we seek to establish you and your practice as the local guru.

  1. Establish your niche - Geographic location x Practice Area(s)
  2. Create your site with good architecture and static content
  3. Create dynamic content and syndicate your articles

Creating dynamic content means answering users questions via the Question & Answer forum, and also publishing new articles on a consistent basis. When a user visits your site, and they see all that you have available, you become the subconcious “best choice”.

If your site is more personable, inviting and informational, then you become the option that is weighed against others as the best. It’s simple. If all your potential client sees is your website, especially in a competitive market, then it better be very good. Otherwise, your competition will win their business!

If you are seeking to be an attorney that get’s clients via the internet and does not spend a dramatic amount of money on sponsored search results, then you must spend time or money on creating content. This content will serve as your way into high rankings on search results, and fortify your position as the local guru.

Because creating content puts you in the position of the local guru, it is a better approach to capturing traffic than spending money on sponsored search programs.

Part of defining a web presence is to put your content out there on the internet, in places outside of your website. All of the sites we build are able to have each article you write syndicated across legal portals, other attorney sites, social networking sites, really any where. With the size of the web, it is important to cast a wide net, and the more you through out, the more you gain.

Interacting with Your Potential Clients

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Your site will have a mixture of static and dynamic pages. The static pages should be thought of as pages that do not change very much, such as the “About” page. Dynamic pages are generally open to comments by users, allowing a dialogue to happen on the site. A good example of a dynamic page is the Question & Answer forum that we offer on our sites.

By interacting with your users and having them publish content on your site, you are truly realizing the essence of what a web presence is.

We will help you to create your static pages, and the dynamic pages will take on a life of their own (filtered by careful moderation of course). User generated content should always be welcome on a website that hopes to gain good search engine rankings. It is allowing your site visitor to give you something for free! Content is king, and a website that catches some buzz will find it’s way around the internet very nicely.

So what is good content for a user to post? Their experience and their questions. Other visitors to your site can view these and respond. More importantly, you have offered them something to relate to. In a sense you are screening them by giving them information. By answering questions, you are establishing yourself as the local guru.

Google and Your Site Map

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Google site maps are a way to keep Google aware of when you have published something new to your site. By publishing an XML site map and registering it with Google, you insure that every update is immediatly sent to those who matter most: your potential visitors.

It’s easy to get caught up in High rankings in search engines and loose site of the bigger picture: it’s all about potential visitors. Unless you are an advertising site, you are all about potential visitors.

We have been publishing XML sitemaps and registering them with Google since the beginning of the program, which was early 2005. (Correct me if I’m wrong…Someone always seems to!) I find if you play the way Google wants you to play, a good relationship will be had! And using Google sitemaps is just a small way to keep that relationship good.

Now with Google auto pingThat means every time you change your site, Google is automatically notified!
